登り窯ができるまで ３．床の敷設 Kiln's floor

運よく工業炉用の耐火レンガを知人から譲り受け（ジョーさんありがとう）、窯の床のレンガの大半はこのレンガでできました。(写真の方は地元で大変お世話になっている秤さん）
Mr.Joe gave me the fire bricks for industrial furnace which allowed me to
cover almost all the kiln's floor. Thank you Joe-san.（The man in the photo

ただ、重さが尋常でなく、一番大きなもので40ｋｇくらいありました。水平を合わせる微調整にこの重さは障害となりましたが、陶芸用の窯としては余りある強度となりました。
The problem was those special bricks were so heavy to move slightly for
leveling out,while it became the toughest floor ever.
耐火モルタルで目詰めをしながらレンガを並べていきます。凹んだ箇所はロストルといい、
焼成中の空気口となり燃焼効率がよくなります。
Work at bricklaying,putting the refractory mortar into the joint.
The sunken space of the floor helps enter the air while firing.
いまさらながらよくやったと思います。
